Annual Flower Show 2018 - Seasonal Inspiration

Fleet Flower Club’s Annual Show entitled “Seasonal Inspiration” took place on Saturday 6 October. This year's title took visitors on a journey throughout the year. From “Small Beginnings”, “Natures Montage”, “Swirl & Sway”, “Package Tour”, “In the Fall” “Firework Fiesta” to a “Winter Sculpture”, the Crookham War Memorial Hall was filled with creative designs by its members.

Club Chairman Joy Crees said “It was a wonderful show. Our members created such fantastic and different exhibits. We were delighted to have Margaret Treppant as our judge who gave everyone lovely feedback. I want to congratulate and thank each and everyone who took part and supported the Show; they did a marvellous job."

Marina Dewey’s design for “Winters Sculpture” not only was 1st Place but also took Best in Show and Best Use of Texture. Marina also came first in “Small Beginnings”, which led her to pick up the Most Points Award too. Nina Eglington took Runner Up to Best in Show and 1st Place with her “Seasonal Inspiration” design. Other winners were Penny Webster for “In the Fall”, Beryl Webster for “Package Tour” who also took Best Use of Colour, Jo Howard for “Firework Fiesta” who also won President’s Choice, Jan Moore for “Nature's Montage” and Angela Clarke for “Swirl & Sway”. Jean Warren won Originality of Design, Sue Gibbons for Best Use of Foliage, and June Eggleton won the People’s Choice award for “Firework Fiesta”. Sandy Bailey who is a long standing member of Fleet Flower Club and also a NAFAS National Demonstrator was pleased to be able to view the interesting and innovative designs created by fellow members of the Club. Sandy was also honoured to present the awards to all the worthy winners, and commented how she looks forward to meeting some of the newer members at the next meeting.
