Open Evening - Demonstrator: Lorena Dyer Title: A Christmas Wish

Lorena Dyer with her Christmas pudding inspired arrangement

The Hartlington Centre was the place to be last night for spectacular flower arrangements and interesting anecdotes from our National Demonstrator, Lorena Dyer, with her theme “A Christmas Wish”.

Lorena had chosen a wonderful array of different flowers and colour combinations. In fact, her boxes containing the blooms and foliage must have been overflowing as you were put in mind of Mary Poppins with her carpet bag pulling more and more items out to add to her fabulous arrangements. Her artistry, in building these designs, while talking to the audience about what Christmas means to her was captivating and, of course, there was plenty of sparkle and glitter to make her arrangements especially Christmassy.

The stage looked stunning and so full at the end of the evening. The dozen raffle prize winners left the theatre with large smiles on their faces very pleased with their winning arrangements.

The theatre was full to bursting with not a spare seat to be had. Also, there were a number of trade stands and all were doing brisk business with the audience keen to start their Christmas Shopping!

Our thanks and gratitude to the staff at the Harlington Centre who helped make this a very successful event for our Club.
